How to strip all performer:instrument entries?

Hi all,
In my silly wisdom I added all involved people including performer: instrument to the “INVOLVED PEOPLE LIST”. I would like to strip all performer:instrument entries but keep the Involved people entries ie: Person: mixer; Person: engineer; Person: producer; Person: writer etc.

I’ve tried quite a few different examples that people have previously posted on the forum but haven’t had much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would also love to know how to rearrange the “Music Credits List” field from Performer:instrument; Performer:instrument format to instrument:performer; instrument:performer format. Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to write a reply.
God bless.
Aaron.

What do you qualify as instrument? E.g. is "vocals" an instrument?
I think you need a list of instruments in the end.
What should replace the instrument?
Or should the name vanish with it?
Could you give real examples for before and after the treatment?

Sorry, I was incorrect about the existing format. Here is an example of the “INVOLVED PEOPLE LIST” field I currently have.

Engineer:jim Pinder:mix:alex Robinson:Mix:carl Bown:mix:colin Richardson; Producer:carl Bown:producer:colin Richardson:Lead Vocals:matthew Tuck:guitar:matthew Tuck; Bass Guitar:matthew Tuck:guitar:michael Paget:Drums [Drum Set]:michael "Moose" Thomas:

I would like all entries that are instrument:performer removed including vocals but entries that are

  • producer:person; engineer:person; composer:person; mix:person; writer:person; arranger:person; to remain.

Ideally I’d like an action to remove the entries as described above but also have an action that moves the instrument:performer entries to the “MUSIC CREDITS LIST”.

I honestly wish I could write these myself but I am absolutely terrible at regular expressions no matter how much I try and make sense of it.
Sincerely appreciate your help.
Aaron

I tried to see some kind of pattern in the supplied string. But I could not.
It would have been easier if a semicolon had been used to separate the individual pieces of data. But that is not the case. Sometimes there is one:

But then, when the instruments start

there is no semicolon but a colon, yet, a semicolon is added in front of the Bass.
So, enlighten me: what is the underlying rule?

Yes. That would be the rule and Mp3Tag won't write the way as in the example of Dizza17.
