How to tag Movies and TV Shows?

Are there any recommendations / guidelines / rules for what values go into Album, Artist, Title, etc. for movies and for TV shows?

TV Shows have TVEPISODE, TVEPISODEID, TVSEASON, and TVSHOW. TITLE is usually pretty easy, but what should I put in for ALBUM and ARTIST?

For ARTIST I usually put in the show's name and for ALBUM I usually put in the season -- That way they show in my player (VideoLAN)

For me, movies are harder; what should I put in for ALBUM and ARTIST?

For ARTIST I usually put in the studio's name and for ALBUM I usually repeat the TITLE

No, there are not.
Still I would put the director's name into ARTIST

The rest is up to your fantasy, e.g. that you put "Star Wars" into ALBUM and then "A new hope" or "Return of the Jedi" into TITLE.

ALBUMARTIST would be for me "Movie" or "TV Series".
