ID3v1 and ID3v2 tagdata

Hi,

Is it possible to edit ID3v1 data and ID3v2 data individually?
I'm asking because I need unicode suppport for my ID3v2 data (used in my iPod) but not for my ID3v1 data (Used in my Carradio's mp3 player - does not support unicode).

Hello Lars!

Yes, you can disable ID3v1/ID3v2 writing at Options > Tags > Mpeg.

Btw, ID3v1 Tags are always stored in the system codepage, because they don't support Unicode.

As far as I understand the ID3v2 tagdata are shown if both ID3v1 and ID3v2 does exist in the mp3 file?

I use CDex for ripping. Do you have other recommendations for CD-ripping?

I wonder if you know of a forum that more generally discuss mp3 items?

Yes, I could use this "easy change" between ID3v1 and ID3v2 too. One might do it by adding a tab-like component on the left side showing the tag-data: 3 tabs showing 1) ID3v1 2) ID3v2 and 3) ID3v1+2. When choosing these you see and at the same time choose which mode you want. :rolleyes:

Sorry, but different tabs for different tag versions are definitely not planned.

Why? It's very important for me, it's just about moving existing features (ID3v1/2.. read/write) to some toolbar buttons. I think it would be easy to implement. Now it's all very annoying...
