I would like to select all the tracks in a compilation album and fill the individual track data for each original track: date, genre, style etc.
For example: a compilation of “John Lee Hooker” songs over his career, and collect the information for each track release date and style etc.
I don’t want the date of when the compilation was produced.. Hope this makes sense.
Possible?
Thank you
You would have to find a release that corresponds to your files and which shows the data as you prefer it.
If that cannot be found, select each file individually and research the data.
It may be simpler in the end to look up the information somewhere and then type it in than to rely on a readymade web source.
If this is a compilation you have made yourself, it is highly unlikely that you will find exactly this collection of tracks online. Only an album like this, available on online platforms such as Discogs or MusicBrainz, would help you minimise your effort.
AFAIK there is no Websourcescript that can search through your compilation to find every individual song and fetch your data.
I thought as much. Not my own compilations. MP3Tag gives you the option to search discogs by track & artist and gets data, but you have to go through list of results search to select a result. If this could be skipped, and data found is not empty, it could be done.
