This site is the source for all cover art for MusicBrainz:
The bad thing:
It is not only the lacking speed, but they also have exposed user data.
It is unclear so far, if the DDoS and breach are linked.
This is also the reason, why MusicBrainz itself currently doesn't show any cover art online:
