Issue with Tag-Tag Single and Bulk Edit in Version 3.21

I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I've encountered with the Tag-Tag single and bulk edit feature in version 3.21 of mp3tag. This functionality worked seamlessly in the prior version, but it seems to be experiencing difficulties in the current version.

The problem specifically pertains to the TITLE field. When attempting to use the Tag-Tag feature to edit tags in bulk or individually, the changes made to the TITLE field do not seem to take effect. Interestingly, this issue doesn't affect other fields such as ARTIST, where the functionality works as expected.

To reproduce the problem, follow these steps:

  1. Select a file.
  2. Click on the Tag-Tag option.
  3. Choose "TITLE" for the Field.
  4. In the Format String, apply a function (e.g., [$cutRight(%title%,2)]).
  5. Click "Ok" to apply the changes.

Although the program appears to be processing the changes, the modifications are not being reflected in the TITLE field. As previously mentioned, when repeating the same steps with a different field like "ARTIST," the feature functions correctly.

I wanted to ensure that you are aware of this issue so that it can be addressed appropriately. If there are any further details or tests you require from my end to assist in resolving this matter, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,
Ram

This does not happen here.
Therefore;: Are you sure you really selected TITLE als field?
Have a look at the extended tag-view (ALT-T), whether there is another field with the content of [$cutRight(%title%,2)].

Just to give an example:
TITEL instead of TITLE is a widespread pitfall.
Also, using as field reference %title% instead of TITLE has happened before.
So, a look at the extended tags would be nice.

I appreciate the immediate response and this is really embarrassing. You are absolutely right. I had a typo. Is there a way to delete the mistyped entry on the Field?

Thanks,

Use Convert>Tag-Tag and open the little menu with the right-arrow next to the field dropdown box.
You will find a function to reset the field list. This removes all non-standard field names.
