Labelling tracks

Hi,

I have a collection of tracks I need classified on my MP3 player at different levels, not just the standard artist, genre, year, etc

Let's say for example I have [Track001.mp3] that I want to classify as [80s], [slow], [soul], [acoustic], [duet].

The reason I would like to do this is so that whichever occasion I want to use my collection for, I just have to filter for [80s]+[slow] and gives me all the 80's slow tracks, or [duet]+[soul] and that gives all the soul duest I have.

My problem is that MP3 players offer to play by playlists. The problem with playlist is that I would need to create one playlist per filter I want to apply.

An example, supposing my tags are [80s]/[90s]/[2Ks], [duet]/[solo]/[group], [soul]/[R&B]/[funky]/[acid jazz], [acoustic]/[synthetic]/[band] and [slow]/[normal]/[fast] then I would have up to 3x3x4x3x3 = 324 playlist to prepare.

What I'm after is a way to tag/label the tracks and find an MP3 player with which I can filter by
label and it gives me my playlist.

Now this might be achievable using the comment tag?? Any idea?

Thanks

Vincent

Hi,

Have you checked out such as MediaMonkey?

Daz

Hello there!

There is a easy and very tidy way to circumvent that limitation. I use Winamp as my media player of choice therefore i can create smart playlists according to the parameters i set.
