Modify filename with action entry

Is it possible to edit/modify the filename of a MP3 file with an action command? I tried to use "replace with regular expression" and $meta(artist), but the output is always empty. It seems there is no possibility to modify the filenam over an action command with tag fields.

It's possible using the _FILENAME field, e.g., with an action "Format value" or "Replace". See for example this post from the FAQ:
