Hello Everyone
I want to change the way alot of my mp3s are written, for example i have a file called -
(06) [DJ Snowman] System Of Survival.mp3
But i would like it to be written this way -
- DJ Snowman - System Of Survival.mp3
Is there anyway to do this in mp3tag? any help much appreciated, thank you.
Use replace with regular expression action in the _FILENAME and use :
Replace
^((\d+))\s+[([^]]+)]\s+(.*)
With
$1. $2 - $3
EDIT
To can also make sure you have leading zeros, do this :
Replace
^(0*(\d+))\s+[([^]]+)]\s+(.*)
With (0$1 will return 01,02 etc and 00$1 will return 001, 002 etc)
0$1. $2 - $3

No problem. You can always use the mask then to right them values to your tags by doing:
Filename > Tag
%track%. %artist% - %title%
Or if your tags are Okay to begin with (without having ot do that step I explained in my first reply) you can use:
Tag > Filename
[$num(%track%,1).][ %artist%][ - %title%]
Above will return (Notice the number of leading zeros and the mask in bold):
6. DJ Snowman - System Of Survival.mp3
And:
[$num(%track%,2).][ %artist%][ - %title%]
06. DJ Snowman - System Of Survival.mp3
I'll edit my first post to show you how to make sure you have 01, 02, 03 etc as opposed to 1, 2, 3 in the filename with that method.
