MP3 files not recognized by MP3TAG

#1

I recently converted WAV files using CDEX and dragged them over the MP3TAG, but nothing shows up. BUT it does work for previous MP3 files I have on my PC.

The difference between the old files and the new files are that the NEW ones' audio format (in properties) says "MPEG Layer-3" and the older MP3s audio format says "PCM".

anyone know why this is?

thank you

Are you sure that the new ones are MP3 and not PCM?

MP3 stands for MPEG (Motion Picture Experts Group) Audio Layer III which is a lossy format. MP3Tag supports such files.
PCM stands for Pulse Code Modulation. PCM data is often wrapped into a WAV container and it's the format you find on Audio CDs, sampled at 44.1 KHz, stereo and at 16 bits. MP3Tag does not support RAW PCM or PCM data wrapped into WAV containers because they do not offer room for tags.
