Mp3Tag 2.39,2.44 & WMplayer10

My English not that good to discripe my problem ,,,but i hope,,,it is enough for help me with this problem....to say Thanks....

For monhts i try to solve an problem in my music collection. Sometimes i think this related with Mp3Tag2.39 wich i use to fill the tags. See picture 4 this happens after i use Mp3tag in some/a lot of my music maps. The info wich you see in Mp3tag disapered in the music map. WMP10 refuse to play the songs. And in some of the songs you can see Chinese symbol (see picure 21) near the name of the artiest. The only thing to correct the tag is to convert all of the songs with Foobar2000, after converting Wmp10 can play the music, and you can read the info in the musicmap.
For years i've used Mp3tag2.39 1 monht ago i update to 2.44 but this didnot solve my problem.

The reason why i think this problem is related to Mp3tag is that i used differents drives...after downlaoding the music temporaly stored on drive C,,,til than Wmp10 can play the songs...than i use Mp3tag to clean and fill in the tag. After that i stored the music on my music drive Z. Than the Chinese symbol appeared, a day later the Tag info disappared.

This sounds very much like the problem discussed here. The cause was an MP3 bug that has only been detected in the last few days, and is described here.

This bug is related to the formatting of some numeric tags which Microsoft's Windows Media Player had previously accepted. After a Microsoft "security update", however, it no longer does so, and any files that MP3Tag had written using that tag format are no longer playable in WMP.

This bug is still present in the current released version of MP3Tag (2.44), but is currently being fixed by Florian. He has produced an "unofficial development release" that does fix the problem, but still has a few minor bugs.

I posted a first version of a document here that describes how to fix the problem, using a development release, but I would advise you to wait a short while for the next release (hopefully only a few more days (Florian?), and I will update and add detail to this "how to" document at that point, in order to make sure that it works with the released version.
