Mp3tag for Mac v1.14 released
I’ve just released Mp3tag for Mac v1.14 and would like to take the opportunity to outline some of the new features and improvements:
Custom Field Values when Editing Fields
You can now configure custom field values per field. They are always available as entries in the Tag Panel’s drop-down lists or as auto-complete options when editing in place in the File List or via Extended Tags. This helps maintain consistency, for example, by defining a list of genres, composer names, countries, or languages.
It’s also possible to import lists of custom field values from text files. Exporting is also supported, so you can create a backup or share your lists.
Managing Format String Histories and Named Favorites
I've added an option to manage the list of format strings in converters and other places via the Manage history… item in the Format String history menu. It also allows you to name format strings, mark format strings as favorites for quick access, and add descriptions to them.
Copying, Cutting, and Pasting Individual Tag Fields
Tag fields can now be copied, cut, and pasted from Extended Tags. Just select the relevant fields you want to copy, right-click, and choose the appropriate entry from the popup menu.
Improvements to Tag Sources
I've improved the performance of executing Tag Sources, especially those with many conditional expressions. I've also added a button to preview the full cover in the Tag Sources query results dialog (if provided by the Tag Source), which gives a nice way of checking the artwork directly from the results list.
In addition, the fields COMPILATION, MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE, and ORIGYEAR are now also imported via the MusicBrainz Tag Source.
