I've just released Mp3tag for Mac v1.9.7 with the following changes:

New:

  • Added Remove Tag toolbar icon (available via Customize Toolbar...). (#69647)

Changed & Improved

  • Use the parent directory in File → Open... if the last opened directory is no longer available.
  • Added tag version display to Extended Tags when viewing individual files. (#69371)
  • Modified Extended Tags column sizing so the Field column only uses the necessary width.
  • Adjusted control sizes for compatibility with macOS 26 Tahoe.
  • When a Nero tag needs to be written for MP4, a minimal version is now used without duplicating other global metadata.
  • Added a workaround for an issue on certain NAS systems (e.g., ReadyNAS) where file descriptors can become invalid (EBADF, error 9). The workaround can be enabled by setting NetworkFileLockingEnabled -bool no via defaults. (#69560)

Fixed

  • Internal changes to ensure fields for format strings work with macOS 26 Tahoe. (#69601)
  • Scripting function $num(x,y) did not preserve a negative sign for the first parameter.

You can update the Mac App Store version via the Update tab in the App Store app and the standalone version from within the app via File → Check for Updates .
