Mp3tag opens in the background when opened from context menu in Total Commander

When I right click a file or folder and select Mp2Tag in Total Commander (TC) Mp3tag opens background (behind) TC. If I use Explorer Mp3tag opens in the foreground.

I realize this could be something TC is doing but it doesn't do this with other programs I use.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to change this.

Bobbie

I'm observing the same and unfortunately have no explanation.

Thank you for the replys.

  1. I don't think it has anything to do with the context menu, or at least not in my case. I forgot I not running the MS standard menus anyway.

  2. If I create a toolbar icon I can drop a file or folder on it and Mp3tag open in the foreground. (Not a real fix but ...)

Maybe I'll go over to TC's forum and ask about it.

I think I found a way to let TC change the calling process to be the foreground window via a call to AllowSetForegroundWindow from the shell extension.

I'll experiment a little and if everything works as intended, it'll be part of the next release. I'll keep you posted.

Same issue. Looking forward to what you discover...

I've just released Mp3tag v3.30a, which should now allow Total Commander (and other 3rd-party file managers) to set the Mp3tag window as foreground window when launched via the context menu shell extension.

Please try it out and let me know if it works for you.

Florian, that's fixed it.

Thank you.

Fixed!!! I actually use OneCommander, not TC. But I had the same problem, and this fixes it.

Much appreciated.
