MP3tag Subgenres in Plex Styles-Field

I'd like to assign subgenres in MP3Tag so that they appear in the “Styles” field in Plex.
But I don't know which MP3Tag field to enter the subgenres into.

Can someone explain the corresponding mapping to me?

Preferably in German, if possible

If you want to write in German, please open a topic in the German section
Deutsch / German > Allgemein

You need to find the corresponding field name first.
Fill the subgenre / style content in PLEX (or wherever this content can be written).
Then load the same song in Mp3tag, press Alt+T and check, which field name will be displayed with your subgenre / style content.
This field name can be used for your other songs to fill the subgenre / style directly in Mp3tag.

That’s the Problem.

I For example, when I’m editing a jazz album called “Dixiland” in Plex, I enter the subgenre in the subgenre field. However, when I open the files in MP3tag and press Ctrl+T to view the tags, there’s no field showing the new subgenre information.

So, unfortunately, I can’t easily find the corresponding field.

It should be Alt-T
Ctrl-T reads the tag again.

If the data is not displayed in MP3tag, then MP3tag cannot modify it or write it to a supported field.

As far as I know, Plex also uses its own database.
It's possible that Plex only saves your "Dixiland" subgenre in its own local database and doesn't write it back as an individual metadata field.
You would need to ask the people on the Plesk forum IF and WHY they do that.

For those interested, this answer can be found in the Plex forum:

Roughly translated meaning

Plex does not alter media files in any way. This includes embedded metadata tags.

and

Plex doesn't read Styles from meta tags. Only the genre(s).
(I'm not even sure if there's a tag for 'style' in the ID3 specification.)
