MP3Tag suddenly stopped working and just sits in Windows Task Manager background. The only notable recent change I have made is removing a Linux server from my network. I did amend tags on this Samba network share occasionally, but it appears as though Mp3Tag is hanging waiting for this share. Any suggestions how to overcome, I have reinstalled to no avail, but also cautious about over writing my customised configuration in AppData
Can you be a bit more specific. for example Mp3tag version number?
What happens if you kill the task in task manager and restart Mp3tag?
Question did you by any chance enabled Mp3tag's Library function?
Edit: You could always make a complete copy of your Mp3tag Config in AppData, and then see if Mp3tag starts normally.
Its the latest release 3.31a, killing the task and restarting made no difference.
However, I left the task in the background for about 15 mins and came back to find it open in foreground. Subsequently, it is working just fine and opening immediately. I can only assume it somehow timed out trying to find the non existent network share?
Latest Release is 3.31c
Check under Options - Library if you have enabled library, and if so disable that.
No I didn’t use that feature, but its working now
