Anyone know how to load an mp4 video file with covers for not only the series, but additional images for each season, and each episode (up to 3 images total)? I would like for this to work with AppleTV 4K 3rd gen, using itunes for windows with home sharing, so each season has it's own cover, and each episode has a screen shot. I'm not entirely sure this is possible, but I've read a few things that indicate Apple does this for TV shows in their store. I'm looking to do this for files that I create rather than those bought from Apple. I know mp3tag can put multiple images in a file, but not sure specifically how to do this in a way that itunes recognizes.
I use AppleTV and iTunes for hosting movies and TV Shows in my home. I have only ever had consistent success with using the season cover as the only image on each episode. I have not been able to get an additional cover for the entire series or individual episodes to work in my case for the files I have ripped.
Apple has a funny way of adding features from their end that we cannot access.
Yes, they are not stored in the MP4 files.
Thanks for letting me know. I was afraid this wasn't possible.
The closest you get is to add a cover for each season and if you use 1080p or lower you typically will automatically get a random screenshot as well. But it is only possible to use one image per media file.
