MY COLUMN "COMMENTS"

Hello,

Since I used your software, from now on I no longer see my COMMENTS when I insert my USB key in my laptop (source document). The COMMENTS column has become empty as if I had lost all the information I entered. I absolutely have to open the MP3Tag software to see them ... my comments are not really lost if I can view them via the software. I think this situation is not normal. Could you help me? Thanks in advance.

2 things: apparently, the windows explorer wants to have a comment field written in the language of the installed windows.
By default, MP3tag writes COMMENT as English comments (as this is preferred by iTunes).
You can set another language in
File>Options>Tags>Enhanced

The other thing: sometimes it helps to check the files with the (freeware) program mp3val.

I hope that at least one of these will help.

I tested this, as he says Comments are not shown on Windows whether you use Mp3tag or Windows Explorer.

If you use Properties dialog of Windows Explorer to edit the comment, you can see the comment in Mp3tag, you can't see in Comments field of Windows Explorer. When you close Properties dialog and open it again, you can see that Comments is empty. So this is a Windows problem, not a Mp3tag problem.

This "COMMENTS" field is a different field used by another program, this is not a ID3 tag field.

I cannot verify any of this: a comment entered in the properties dialogue of an MP3 file (and saved it) stays visible in Windows and can be seen in MP3tag. Also, if you add a column for comments, then this is filled with the correct data.

What you have to look out for: does the file have other fields starting with the word "COMMENT" like COMMENT AIRTIME?
The comment field in the properties is filled with the contents of the first field starting with the word "COMMENT" - long as the language is the correct one.
