The message after cntl-A tag sources freedb ...

Where did xxxxxxxx come from if I searched based on "determine from selected files"

Thus xxxxxxxx is the ID that is somewhere in the MP3 file headers or tags? Where is this? Nothing is showing under DISCID.

This is the Disc ID that is calculated by Mp3tag.

To get a correct Disc ID, the files have to be in the same order as on the anticipated album and must have the same length as on the album.
