Not able to edit track number

Hello, i recently upgraded to newer version. I am now unable to edit the track number(s) in the columns. Mp3tag will however allow editing of track numbers in the tag panel. How might i regain this function?

Please show us the definition for the column that should show track numbers.

I was previously able to edit this column (which i do quite often), Not i must edit the track numbers in the tag panel, which is much more work.

That is a screenshot of the MP3tag window but not about the definition for that what gets displayed in the column.
The settings should look something like this:

That is what i have. The numeric box was not checked. I checked it to match your image, still not able to edit.

Then please check the Options for Tags>Mpeg and what tag versions you read, write an delete.
Pay esp. attention to APE tags and what happens if you switch off and on reading them (and re-read the files after each modification of the settings)

I tired changing the value a couple of times, that did it. it seems to work ok now. Thank you very much for your help!

Well, sort of.
It actually means that you have APE tags in your files and they get out of sync as you apparently do not write them (but read them).
If you do not really need the APE tags then I would delete them and set MP3tag not to read and write them at all.

Hmmm, i am not aware of any APE tags at all.The files in the example i sent don't have any (i just checked). I changed the settings, this is what i have now.

You have to look at the settings for
Options->Tags->Mpeg.

The Screenshot of your settings in
Options->Tags->Ape..
should not have any influence on your Mp3s.

If you enlarge your first screenshot so that the column "Tag" can be fully seen we can see whether you have ape-tags.
