On Win 11 Pro the mp3tag context menu vanished after the last update

On Win 11 Pro German using mp3tag the context menu vanished after the update from 3.29 to 3.30.

Uninstall and new installation didn’t help.
I can only use mp3tag using the drag&drop of files on the icon.

How can I get rid of broken entries in the registry or how can I recover otherwise?

That didn’t help.

The popup dialog showed, that the registration was successful, but the context menu on a mp3 file didn’t show up.

I use the 64bit version. Is also the registration regsvr32 to be used for 64bit?

I’m puzzled.

I also updated to 3.31.
No change, unfortunately.

Yes, the Mp3tagShell.dll from the 64-bit version is a 64-bit DLL.

Did you restart explorer.exe via the right-click context menu in Task Manager, or did you reboot Windows?

ShellExView hat geholfen, die Extension war deaktiviert.

Nun funktioniert es wie gewohnt.

Schritte:

  1. shellexview starten und nach mp3tag suchen, danach Eintrag untersuchen, ob die Extension deaktiviert ist. falls ja -Y Umschalten auf nein.
  2. explorer killen und neu starten
  3. Falls das nicht hilft, mp3tag deinstallieren, Extension mit ShellExView entfernen, explorer beenden, explorer starten, mp3tags installieren, mit ShellExView schauen, ob deaktiviert, extension aktivieren

Mal sehen, ob das nach dem Reboot auch so bleibt.

Hat funktioniert.

Nun freue ich mich wieder auf die einfache Nutzung beim taggen von vielen MP3 Dateien…
