Hi,

First of all thanks for making this freely available I have some questions/suggestions...

It seems there are a number of one-way operations where it would be useful to have two-way operations:

  1. Save configuration but no load configuration.
  2. Save actions but no load actions.
  3. Textfile to Tag but no Tag to Textfile.

The first two of these would be really useful as I'd like to transfer settings between two pcs, the third would be useful as I'm doing some conversions via a format without tag, saving them first, doing my conversion then reloading them would be really useful.

Similarly it would be great to be able to copy a set of tags from files in one folder to a set of files with the same names in a different folder.

Thanks for listening, any suggestions if the above are already possible would be happily received.

  1. There is no " Save actions"
    If you mean "Actions > Utils > Save configuration..." this saves the current selection state to a mtg file
  2. File > Export

To copy all tags from one or more files to other files, just select the files, press Ctrl+C, select the other files and press Ctrl+V

Thanks for the tips, especially the copy/paste I wasn't sure if it would work and will try it as soon as possible.

For configurations, is it possible to just copy a file from one PC to another to transfer the configuration (and if so which file) ?

You have to select the name from the Action Utils button menu.

Yes.

You choose the name upon save.

But note: this transfers Action configurations only. To transfer all prog config, copy e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Application Data\Mp3tag.

There is
"File > Save configuration" that saves all config files to a zip archive
and
"Actions > Utils > Save configuration..." that only saves the selection status of the actions window

I also think
"Actions > Utils > Save configuration..." should be renamed to "Save selection state" or similar, other suggestions?

I've changed it to Save selection... with Mp3tag v2.44a.
