I guess this question has been asked numerous times but I cant see it anywhere.

How do I take just part of a filename and derive just the artist, title etc as seperate values in their own right?

Example, file name is "Billboard Top 100 Hits Of 1961 - 001 - Dion - Runaround Sue.mp3"

How do I extract just the artist name (Dion) and populate the artist column in MP3tag. Similarly, how would I extract just the song title (Runaround Sue) and populate just the title column?

To copy "Dion" to the artist field, use %dummy% - %artist% - %dummy%. For the other task, %dummy% - %dummy% - %title% should do the job. :slight_smile:
