Playlist File name in window title

Hi guys. This little app is brilliant, but I find one shortcoming, or I’m not using it correctly. It is nice to see the directory in which I work, but sometimes it is also necessary to know which file I’m working with. Is there a setting I can use, similar to the “on/off” tick in general settings? (see attached image).

AFAIK there is no specific setting.

In a fresh installed Mp3tag, you see the Filename and Path in the File List as columns
Filename and Path

Right-click on a column header to check whether this column is deactivated (there should be a tick in front of the column name to see the column).

For future readers:
My answer above was written before it became clear that the OP is asking for the Playlistname.

The window title shows the current working directory.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. However, I work with around 15 m3u files every week for my radio station. It happens that one gets distracted and when coming back, it sometimes takes a bit of searching to find exactly which m3u file is open. It comes with age. Even by selecting the filename as you suggested, it only shows the filenames of the list in the m3u playlist. Maybe Florian sees this post and come up with a brilliant idea, as he alswyas does.

So you actually want to see the name of the playlist file and not the filename of an audio file?

Yes, that is correct. Audio filenames can easily be seen by selecting a specific column or not displaying it.

I suggest as an alternative to create a user-defined field, e.g. PLAYLISTNAME and fill that for the files, when initially loading them.
With such field you could also see which files have been added or come from other playlists.
Like that you could cater for your specific workflow without the need to alter Mp3tag's behaviour for the rest of the users.

I’m not sure that I follow. It is easy to create a new field, but I create the playlist with Zara, since it works easily. I normally take an older playlist from the previous week, change certain items in it and rename it for the required broadcast date. The alternative may be to create the playlist with MP3Tag, something I will have to think about. Thanks for your suggestion, anyway, as two minds are better than one! I will endeavour to change my compilation of the playlist and see who that works.

Do you know the playlist functions in the MP3tag file menu? The playlists are just as good and you do not have to use 2 programs.
