Playlist type and export question

  1. Is the create playlist feature in MP3tag restricted to .m3u / .m3u8 only?

If you never want to use m3u format, do you still have to use Export instead (and leave the playlist toolbar buttons an menu unused?), or can the m3u function of the playlist buttons be replaced so that 3rd-party script or tool could be run from these buttons instead?

  1. I was looking at export formats (I don't really understand them much, I am a beginner) but for a simple view of a list of files I tested the rtf.mte that comes as standard with MP3tag. I tried to make one simple change (to replace %_date% with %_folderpath% so that the folder path would be displayed at the top of the page) but it did not work. The path was messed up and it only partially displayed.

$filename(rtf,ansi){\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Tahoma;}} \viewkind4\uc1\pard\b\f0\fs32 Mp3tag File Overview\par \b0\fs20 %_folderpath%\par \par

Can anybody tell me why this didn't work and how to correct it?

You would have to comply with the fomatting rules for rich text format files.
Perhaps it is easier if you use txt as output.

The playlists function is a convenience if you don't want to write a dedicated export script for it.
And no, you cannot assign a different program to the playlist creation.

Thanks for the clarification.
