Playlist with single mp3 from various folder

Hello.
I search for a possibility to make playlists with only some files from various directories.

Maybe the playlist is called "best70er.m3u"
The first song in the playlist should be one from Folder A, the next song from Folder C ... like this

  1. best70er/BANDNAME-A/TITEL-1.mp3
  2. best70er/BANDNAME-C/TITEL-5.mp3
    ...

Is there an easy way to make those playlists. Of course I can manually write them.

Maybe also for Folders that are above the playlist like
../best80er/BANDNAME/TITEL.mp3

Nice would be the option, to right click on a mp3 and put it in a specific playlist. Maybe another program makes that?

And the very top where a function to copy just those files from those foldermixed playlists to usb :slight_smile:

Did you have a look at the help on playlists?

Also, you can d&d files from various folders into MP3tag (press the Ctrl key while you d&d)
Or you load the folders and drag the files into the correct position while pressing the Alt-key.

Then I can only make one playlist with the droped files. But I like to scroll through the file and say "this one für playlist A, this for Playlist D ...).

Best way seems to give the desired mp3s a Tag like Genre=70s+ and at the end with the Filter-Function
"genre IS 70s+" to make the playlist.
But don't know how to sort the filtered list. I can't change the Track-Nr in original file. Any ideas?

No one hinders you to add a user-defined field that represents the target playlist.

Once you have arranged the files, you can add another user-defined field that gets an ascending number generated by %_counter%

You mean I should type the number of the mp3-position manualy in a new field?

There is no option in MP3tag to sort the list by mouse drag and dropping?
The order of new playlist ist always the Track-Nr?

And is it possible, to tag one mp3 with 2 or more Genres?

As I wrote earlier: you can drag a file into position while pressing the Alt key.

If you want to save the position in that playlist then
Select the files from that playlist
create an action of the type "Format value" for (the user-defined) field "my_playlistorder"
Format string: %_counter%

Either open the Extended tags dialogue (Alt-T)
Click on "New"
Select "Genre" as field
Enter the genre.
Save the tags with OK.

Or go to the Genre input box and append the existing string with \\ and the new genre, e.g.
Rock\\Soul
Then save the modification.

Trying copying the files from mixed playlist I found this:

Can you tell me, where I have to write the Target-Directory in the mpe file? I don't see where the %temp%-directory copies the files.

And another question: The new user-defined fields for my playlist don't appear in other programs? Even a second genre did not?
I tried to find my tags with the player AIMP with ID3v2

I think only Foobar2000 can cope with user-defined fields.
The support for multi-value fields is just as scarce.

Hello again.
And is it right that the second genre (set with Alt+t) can not exported?
I tried with %genre% in the mpe file, but only one genre is outputted.
So I must make a new user-defined field for the genre, if I wan't to export everthing?

$meta_sep(genre,; ) should show all genres separated with "; "

Ihr sprecht hier ja alle auch und vor allem wohl deutsch? Dann hätt ich mich ja nicht zu bemühen müssen :slight_smile:

Danke für den Tipp. Jetzt habe ich aber gesehen, dass wenn ich mein eigenes Genre zwecks Untergliederung eingebe, dass ich dann das bereits bestehende Genre überschreiben muss (sofern ich nicht über ein Script gehe und mein Genre anhänge).
Und wenn ich ein neues Genre eintippe, übernimmt er das nicht in dem Listenfeld, wenn ich andere Lieder damit taggen will. Ich müsste also meine eigenen Genres erst unter den Programmeinstellungen definieren und würde dann nach Auswahl eines eigenen Genres das vorherige Genre mit meinem überschreiben. Nicht schön .... Oder gibt es doch einen Weg?

Beispiel: Ein Lied hat das Genre "Folk". Nun möchte ich ein Genre "Folk 1" hinzufügen (als Kategorie für besonders guten Folk). Tippe ich "Folk 1" in das Listenfeld Genre, wird zwar das neue Genre übernommen, aber das alte überschrieben. Schreibe ich Folk;Folk 1" wird zwar beides als Tag gespeichert, aber wenn ich das nächste Lied genauso taggen will, muss ich den Vorgang wiederholen, weil im Listenfeld nicht auftaucht "Folk;Folk 1".

ich werde wohl doch über das user-defined field meine Musiksammlung ordnen. Da habe ich zwar auch kein Listenfeld für meine eigenen Kategorien, aber ich schmiere wenigstens nicht in den Genres herum.

Gibt es einen Befehl, mit dem ich alle angelegten Werte eines user-defined fields ausgeben lassen kann? Also zeige mir alle Werte, die ich in mein Feld eingetragen habe?
