Problem editing .m4b audiobook file with 365 chapters (limited to 113?)

Hi, I have a m4b audiobook file which contains 365 chapters.

If I do any tag editing in this file, the new m4b file will have only the first 113 chapters... the rest are all eliminated.

Why this restriction?

Is it possible to manage all 365 chapters with MP3TAG?

I've just tried to reproduce with a test file I generated that has 300 chapters. It works as expected.

Where do you see only 113 chapters after editing? Do you still see the 365 chapters in Mp3tag (or have %_subsong_count% expose the correct number)?

Hi Florian, thank you very much for your support and for marvellous mp3tag that I have been using for decades! :slight_smile:

I just realized that the problem appears in VLC media player.

When I play original .m4b file in VLC all 365 chapters are shown. Mp3tag tag format shows MP4 (MP4)

If I edit tags with mp3tag then VLC shows only the first 113 chapters. Mp3tag format shows MP4 (MP4 Nero)

It is like VLC does not properly understand mp3tag format...?

Could you suggest any solution?
