Problem with copying tags in v3.33 - iTunes does not show all tag fields

When copying tags from one mp3 to another, a few tags get deleted on the file you pasted on.

That I have noticed, artist, album and composer.

Reverted to v3.32, and it’s not happening with that version.

could you show us a screenshot of the extended tags dialogue from the source file and from the extended tags dialogue from the target file?

I can’t, I have uninstalled v3.33. I do have a bit of additional information though. Although the tags looked ok on mp3tag, it was in iTunes that it was missing those particular tags.

And just to reiterate, it is not happening anymore, now that I have installed v3.32.

So it's an iTunes problem?
And now even you cannot reproduce the problem?

Did you change the installation method from standard to portable or vice versa?

@AdanS, it would be great if you could take the time to describe this so that others can reproduce what you've observed.

I've tried copying ID3v2.3 tags from one MP3 file (including artist, album, and composer) to another MP3 file that's part of an iTunes library (v12.13.9.1) and after reloading the tags via right click, Song Info in iTunes, all data from the source file was visible in the target file.

I'm moving this to Support until a few more details and steps to reproduce the issue are shared.

No, it’s not an iTunes problem. Nothing has changed in iTunes. There was a new version of Mp3tag that CAUSED the problem. I cannot make it any clearer.

I have already regretted posting this… this was just to report A BUG IN MP3TAG. If people don’t have reading skills, I am not going to waste more of my time with this.

I really, really cannot explain this vey simple issue any better. All the information I can give, is already posted.

Muting. Sorry for wasting mine, and your time.

Obviously, the alleged bug does not appear in general, as a test with the scarce information that you have given, led to the result:

So it would need more details to find the conditions under which the behaviour that you consider to be a bug can be observed/reproduced.
This additional information was already requested - so you can see that your report is taken serious - and I would have expected that you just as seriously would try to help to investigate the cause.
Otherwise, and there I agree with you, it would be a waste of time.

I have already updated to V3.33 and do not see this behaviour with mp3 files.

This escalated pretty quickly. When other members here including the developer respond within a couple of hours of your post and ask for additional details, it would be in everyone's best interest if you could reply in kind. Your issue may very well be a legitiamate concern, but can only be addressed if the developer can drill into the real problem. Refusing to elaborate helps no one.

Hello @AdanS, I read what you wrote:

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Could you show us an image of the bug? I sometimes work with iTunes MP3 files…

Could you please reinstall Mp3tag v3.33 so you can run some tests and send us an image of the bug you encountered? If this bug is indeed real, Florian will certainly fix it, as he always does professionally. Just a quick question: are you using Windows 11?

As you wrote, if the bug persists, no problem, just reinstall Mp3tag v3.32 while Florian fixes it.

Thank you in advance for your help.
