Hi all,
I have a strange issue going on. I moved all music to my laptop recently, and for mp3tag I exported my config and brought it over. Didn't change anything.
So, as you can see, all the numbers are coming up differently from when I was on my main PC. The disc number field is on the right side rather than left, and it doesn't actually fill the disc number at all, only the "out of" part. But the disc number is actually being displayed in the track numbers? Why is this? I didn't change anything in my config when I switched, the only difference is going from Windows 10 to 11, but that shouldn't matter?
Any help would be great, thanks.
Which script exactly do you use?
And could you please show the link to the original MB release you are referring to?
Yesterday's MusicBrainz schema change added some addition information to the medium table and Mp3tag's import wasn't prepared for that.
I've just released Mp3tag v3.29c, which should fix the track-number import.
I've also had a look at the disc number, which is correctly imported with the updated script. Please let me know, if it also works for you.
Looks good for me for TRACK and DISCNUMBER with the newest v3.29c:
Does it work for @kadsl123 too?
Hot dang! That worked! Thanks a bunch.
I went and checked on Win10 PC and saw that it was happening there too, ruling out it being an OS issue anyway, so I thought I was going crazy.
The metadata source - MusicBrainz - introduced a so called Schema Change.
One of the many changes to their database and web pages was the aforementioned medium enhancement.
The note: "Like most of our recent schema changes, it should have little or no impact to downstream users..." is not entirely accurate in this case.
