Hello. Apologies for a question that I'm sure is asked from time to time. Is there a resource that can show me how to get the edited metadata in MP3Tag back into the BluSound Vault? I am manually updating some metadata on CDs that we purchased on vacations from Street Vendors and can't figure out how to get that back to the original file in the vault. I did a re-index thinking that might be some magical way to do it but not. The path in MP3Tag is correct, but I am lost as to next step.
Help! And Thank You.
I don't own a Bluesound but I had a look at their support pages: There are two distinct ways of re-indexing — one that just picks up changes it detects (Reindex Music Collection) and one that discards the existing index and rebuilds the index from the actual files (Rebuild Index).
From the support article:
If you notice that the changes you have made are not accurately reflected in your library after conducting a Reindex
music collection, you can attempt to resolve this by deleting and subsequently recreating the index through a Rebuild
Index operation.
Can you try those to let BluOS to pick up the changes you're already seeing in Mp3tag?
Thank you Florian. I appreciate it.
I was assuming that if the file, with its path, had been dropped into MP3Tag before editing, that those changes were somehow automagically moved back to the Vault filesystem? Is that correct?
I will try the new reindex method to see if it does work and let you know.
You may need to check the file options in the mp3tag settings. There is a checkbox to not modify the change date when updating metadata only in mp3tag. Some programs look at this date to determine if changes need to be made in their database.
