Red cross symbol in file list?

hi.... i'me doing a big clean of my library (c.96000 mp3s!) and mp3tag is just fantastic - and able to cope with all those files which is great! while working though I am seeing some files flagged with a red cross symbol instead of a file icon as per attached, but I'm not sure what it means?

The first column on the main display corresponds to the file type. I have a lot of MP3 files that work properly but display this icon [snap] instead of the normal MP3 icon, [snap], which I get for the most MP3 files why?
