RELEASETIME issue in AAC .M4a files

Hi all.. I'm a new user...n glad to be one...
first I'd like to thank for sharing such amazing app...
been wanting to edit the iTunes tags...

I've been surfing all nite tru this forum n I saw some of the itunes-tags are editable with the latest version...

well...I still got some problem...
I've worked with the additional-custom-tag for itunes release date.
I've tried the RELEASETIME and it only works for the original Purchased Songs or the ones which were converted in .mp3 files...

I also have files which were converted to AAC .m4a...
I'm using the built-in converter in iTunes...
n I used it to convert the original purchased into aac.m4a files...

but too bad that the RELEASETIME is not working for those .m4a files...
after I've edited the file...then tried to restore it in itunes...but the release date didnt appear for such m4a files...
wish someone culd help with this one...I desperately wanted to manage my .m4a files library by sorting them with 'release date'...

oh and... I wish that there's also a way to edit the iTunes' "Purchased By" filed instead of the "Purchase Account"...thx bunches....

nick

There's no RELEASETIME tag for m4a files.
But you can fill the YEAR tag in YYYY-MM-DD format.

I see...thx for the reply Dano...

but the purchased itunes songs were also in m4a format n has the 'release date' tag...

is it then maybe the converted-m4a files had some changes after the converting...??? :frowning:

thx...

Did you check the tags with "View > Extended Tags" ?

And as I said before, the YEAR tag is used for the release time.

wow awesome...
I didnt know that the YEAR m4a tagger in mp3tag was also for release date...
I just need to input it in 2011-05-25T07:00:00Z format...
n it will take affect in iTunes...
cuz I was a lil confused, there were two different tags in iTunes itself... YEAR n RELEASE DATE each one has its stand-alone tag...
but for MP3 files will require RELEASETIME tag for it...
now I get it...hmmm...

thx so much... this really helps me so much...
I'll recond this app for my friends :stuck_out_tongue:

is there a way to edit the
"Writing application" tag for m4a...

for example my m4a files have this tag on it:
Writing application : iTunes 10.1.2.17, QuickTime 7.6.9

unlike for mp3 files which could be edited with 'encoded by' tagger...
