Hello All. I have an exxesive amount of duplicats in my itune library. Is ther a function that i can use to remove them from itunes via mp3tag? or this is something i have to try to do in tunes?
Short answer: No.
Mp3tag is a tagging software. It is not designed to detect and remove duplicate audio files.
There are various specialised third party software options available.
I think you should ask this question in a iTunes forum.
A result from the forum search:
iTunes, BTW, does not really detect duplicates, it only shows files with the same tag data.
And that could be due to unexact tagging where the important version indicator has been left out.
So you would be stuck with indiviudally comparing the files.
Agree, i ansy ponters to solve this problem?
Please see the linked thread.
BeaTunes is great at this...
In iTunes
File>Library>Show Duplicate Items
-It will show a list of all songs with the same name, or click the header filter for "Same Album" to show true duplicates.
