Removing second artist within filename

Hello,

i have two artist within my filename. ex. 3 YEARS HOLLOW ♫ CLINT LOWERY . FOR LIFE . 2014

i like to remove the second one olny. i have try Covert tag to filename using $cut(left and right) with no luck. my process was
convert tag - filename
string: $cutleft(%_filename,#) #=spaces.
can anyone tell me how i do this please. i have lots of files like this and would like to remove all 2nd artist from each file in one shot if possible, Thank You

What character divides the 2nd artist in all your filenames?
Is it the ♫ between HOLLOW and CLINT?

Only if you find a unique character you can create an automated way to split/remove the 2nd artist.

BTW:
What content do you have in your ARTIST and TITLE tag?

Thanks for the reply, yes ♫ is the divider between the artist. the tag info is the same as the artist and title which i like to keep as is.

Just to be sure:
Your ARTIST tag contains
3 YEARS HOLLOW ♫ CLINT LOWERY
Your TITLE tag contains
FOR LIFE
Your YEAR tag contains
2014
and you want to have this different filename
3 YEARS HOLLOW - FOR LIFE - 2014
or do you really prefer the one with dots
3 YEARS HOLLOW . FOR LIFE . 2014

That is correct and i like the filename as 3 YEARS HOLLOW . FOR LIFE . 2014

You have the choice

a) Convert Tag -> Filename
with this Format string:
$regexp(%ARTIST%,(.*) ♫ (.*),$1) . %TITLE% . %YEAR%

or

b) Convert Filename -> Filename
Old filename pattern:
%1 ♫ %2 . %3 . %4
New filename pattern:
%1 . %3 . %4

Sure, as long as your multi filenames from different artist have exactly the same structure as in your example
3 YEARS HOLLOW ♫ CLINT LOWERY . FOR LIFE . 2014
that is
Artist 1 ♫ Artist 2 . Title . Year
or more detailled:
Artist 1
space
♫
space
Artist 2
space
dot
space
Title
space
dot
space
Year

Otherwise you have to adjust the "Format string" or the "old filename pattern" according to your existing filename.
