Renaming Mutii directories at once

Hello,

i'm trying to rename all my The %artist% directoires to %artist% The %year at once. can i do do this?
my action is
action format value
field _directory
formet string
E:\1950s\%artists% The %year%

i like to be able to do all folders the the %artists% under the main folder at once any suggestions? Thank You

First you need to define if you want to have ARTIST or ARTISTS for your renaming task.
Then you need to filter for all ARTIST (or ARTISTS) that have THE in their name.

If I understand your wish, you want to rename "The Beatles" into
E:\1950s\Beatles The 1980

Are you sure that you don't need only the 1950 to 1960 in this folder?
-> Filter for this YEARs too

Are you sure that you don't want to see \Beatles, The (with a comma separated)?

How do you like to rename artist names like
The Rolling Stones?
The Mamas & the Papas?
George Thorogood & the Destroyers
Martha Reeves and the Vandellas?

Thanks for the reply i llike to rename artists folders only
rename to beatles the 1962 under the mail folder 1950,01960 etc. i'm trying to just mover the 'The' from the front of the name to the back of the name and to be able to do this on different artists at the same time. i've spent days and hours looking here on these post and not having any luck, it be nice if there was a page with just scripting examples without going through posts,

Then I suggest to use a different (specialized) program for such a rename task.

so mp3tag can't handle these type of task then i'm taking it. is there a way to rename multi file of different artist at the same time then? thanks for the links
