Restore Config from Timemachine Backup

I had to restore my Mac after it froze during an upgrade, and reinstall Mp3Tag (amongst many other things!)

I have a TimeMachine backup of the whole machine, but I don’t want to do a full restore.

How can I restore my Mp3Tag settings from the backup? Are they stored somewhere in my home dir? ie. can I restore my Home dir from backup and extract the MP3Tag settings?

Thanks,

R.

Yes, you can restore your Mp3tag settings from the backup.

  1. Open Finder an press ⇧⌘G or Go → Go to Folder…
  2. Enter ~/Library/Containers/app.mp3tag.Mp3tag/Data/Library/Preferences/
  3. Follow the steps to restore the file app.mp3tag.Mp3tag.plist from Time Machine as outlined by Apple Support: Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac - Apple Support

If you used any custom Tag Sources, you can restore them to

~/Library/Containers/app.mp3tag.Mp3tag/Data/Library/Application Support/Mp3tag/Sources/

Perfect! Thanks.
