Running Actions With Keyboard Shortcuts After saving tags

I often make a change to a file or set of files & then proceed to run an action on said file(s) using a keyboard shortcut.

In these scenarios I usually click another random file or deselect the file(s) that I just saved / changed. The blinking typing cursor, if present means that a keyboard press of "ALT + A" will take me to a tag field (usually gets highlighted) & then any subsequent key clicks will overwrite said tag field instead of mp3tag running the action as it would if I had only selected a file & then immediately proceeded with my keyboard shortcut "ALT + A + C" for example.

The other workaround would be to trigger the action by clicking the action menu & selecting the action from there but this is often slower.

Is there any way to exit tag editing (remove my blinking cursor) without needing to deselect & subsequently reselect my target files?

I'm sure this is a simple oversight on my end but any help would be appreciated.

My end goal is simply to be able to change the year on 5 tracks for example, & then with those same files selected use a keyboard shortcut to trigger an action without needing to open the action menu manually or deselect & reselect my file(s).

Press the standard windows key F10 to enter the menu bar and then proceed from there with e.g.

On my end F10 is seemingly not bringing me to the menu bar. After hitting F10 and then following it up with ALT + A + C is typing C into my first field

You are right: do not use the Alt key.
As soon as you press F10 the focus should move to the first menu (probably "File") and then A should open the action menu
