Setting to persist the cover art type & descrip on Cut command

Situation is:

You’ve got established back covers for every track and they’re 1/1 the only cover so far. they have like in my situation the description of https://exedexes1.com because I like to have a terse extra mention of my website on the back cover.

Now: you haven’t set your front cover because you decided that you build your front cover at the end of doing the last track and only upon-release.

Technically: you can add the front cover, which ends up being 2/2 and then you’re stuck cutting the back cover to swap the positions. This would be fine except: on cut your Type and descriptions don’t persist!

Getting to the point: the request is to have a toggle setting so that you can choose or not, to have the Cover Type and Cover description -stay with- the cover you just-cut in the paste buffer.

Extra credit: being able to move the cover indices up or down when you have more than 2 by being able to type numbers.

2nd Extra credit: lastly so that it ends all discussion forever, directory-wide being able to swap a selection of covers all being 1st covers to the 2nd or some other index in the ordering.

Why? on the mp3 players if it’s a crude mp3 player that is bought for cheapness like the Ruizu mp3 players, they only show the first cover. I have my DPS logo which is the back-cover logo on like the first 300 releases. It would be pleasant to have swap capabilities etc if all three requests were there i could deftly move around the 3rd cover also which would be the individual as-a-single different Front cover than the album cover.

Probably most artists are not so spammy but some synthesizer bedroom producers put a track out every few days, making an album a monthly chore.

Sorry for such a chatty post!

Check out the function "Manage covers ..." from the context menu of the cover section in the tag panel.
See also the changelog
[2025-07-18] NEW: added function 'Manage covers...' to cover menu, which allows for adding, removing, replacing, adjusting, and reordering of embedded cover art in one or multiple files.

And the documentation

and see whether that helps.
That function should move cover positions without the need to cut&paste.

thank you and it may well be that i was lazy taking optional updates and just said no to it and forgot

(update, after install): yeah that’s….perfect.

I am indeed silly. Batch moves would be nice but rarely would folks be in my position to need hundreds of it
