[Solved] Save Button minor annoyance

On Windows, the save button always works even though there are no changes made by me or Mp3tag, on MAC the save button is Grayed out?

Is there a reason for this?

The Reason I ask is that I use a program, called iVolume to do volume analyzes of the audio file (for iTunes) and it writes it in Comment iTunenorm (spelling) but unfortunately it writes it as ID3v2.4 and I prefer v2.3, thus in Windows I just press the save button and Mp3tag writes the files as v2.3

In mac however I need to do a minor change to the tag of the audio file, remove the change to make save functional, then I can press save and Mp3tag saves it as v2.3.

So why is the save button non functional. Or am I missing something?

Yes, the idea is to reflect the modification state of the values in the Tag Panel, so it's disabled if nothing is to be saved.

If you just want to rewrite the tags you could use ⌥⌘S

Thx,

but why the change then compared to the Windows version, where the save button is always working? Any reasoning behind it?

Please don't change the behavior on Windows though

My initial idea was to directly give visual feedback and let the toolbar symbol reflect the modification state of the values in the Tag Panel.

Apparently, it causes more confusion than it helps (you're not the first to mention this), and I changed the behaviour with Mp3tag for Mac v1.9.8, where the Save toolbar button and menu item are now always enabled when files are selected.

WOW @Florian

I told you this before, but you deliver quality stuff. Kudos x10
