Once I have my songs in a playlist, how do I custom sort the order I want them played in
I figured it out. You have to select song + alt to move song in list
Just to complete the picture:
After you have rearranged the files in MP3tag you also have to save the playlist again. Otherwise the original playlist file would be left untouched.
