Sorting mp3 files with error

Good evening everyone,

Since version 3.32, the first column of selected files displays an icon. Since this version, this icon can be a red circle with a white cross: a sign of a problem with that file. I discovered some files with errors somewhat by chance.

The error is always the same in the file properties visible in MP3TAG:

version: ERROR header MP3 header; ID3v2.3 (ID3v1 ID3v2.3)

I don't fully understand the meaning of this error, but I understand why some titles (which now appear with errors) were unreadable on some players (my home stereo system, for example).

So I corrected some files by opening them with the GoldWave editor, and, without making any changes, I saved them under a different name. GoldWave's "save as" process generates a new, clean file without errors... and without modifying any other tags.

Then I replaced the old file with the new one: deleting the old one and giving the old name to the new file.

And, joy of joy, the error disappeared in MP3TAG: normal icon and error-free properties.

So I wanted to check all my files (> 21,000), by loading them all in MP3TAG.

But, and this is where I'd like to make a suggestion, it's impossible to sort the first column (with the icon: correct/error).

So, you have to check all the files by scrolling through them... it's tedious, and each refresh (F5) forces you to scroll through everything again... 8-(

Would it be possible to enable sorting on this first column, to group all the files with errors and thus avoid missing any during the repair process (which is already a bit cumbersome)?

Ideally, we could correct this type of error with MP3TAG, but I don't want to be too greedy; sorting alone would be a very welcome help.

One last word to congratulate the author for his remarkable product and the consistency with which he develop and maintain it.

Thank you for your patience in reading my (very/too) long email.

You could also sort by the column that shows the contents of _TAG - this column is included in the standard configuration, please scroll the filelist to the right.

Thank you so much !

It is perfect !

Have a good night.
