Just a possible new feature (perhaps it already there,but I can’t find it).
There are times where I find myself wanting to submit my metadata to freedb (as my CD Ripper does), using the metadata that is in my digital files. Or to any of the common metadata databases.
It would be nice if I could use mp3tag to do this, but I see no option for that.
Thanks for your suggestion. This isn't possible with Mp3tag and is unlikely to be added.
Submitting to freedb is only possible with the original audio CD, since copies of CDs or digital files might generate a slightly different freedb ID.
Please use your CD ripper for that (and only if you have the original audio CD).
As for other metadata databases, they usually provide a dedicated process to enter data via a web interface (cf. MusicBrainz Beginners Guide, Discogs Submission Guidelines). Once submitted, the data also becomes available in Mp3tag through one of the Tag Sources.
