This seems to have been suggested some time ago but I’m not aware if it’s ever been implemented.
If you have set in Options>Messages to get a message when there are unsaved changes, you do get a warning - only not when you change the directory.

I have that set and if I edit a tag then change to another track or deselect it, it prompts me to save.
However, if I just go to change the music directory or close the program there is no warning, and any tag changes I had made are lost.
I feel it would be nice to have a waning in those situations also.
