In the file view, i find that I normally prefer to keep things I don't manually edit, like 'Path', hidden from view. But I also find that there are sometimes cases where they're necessary.
A much faster way to display and hide columns would be to list all of them, along with check marks, in the right-click context menu when you right-click the column headers. A menu something like:
Customize columns...
------------------------
x Tags
Path
x Filename
x Tracknumber
x Track
(etc.)
And I'd still like to see the ability to re-order columns by dragging and dropping, as is common in Windows software.
I understand that you want to save one mouse click. This wish would be acceptable - at a first glance.
But there are some users in the world who have columns.ini file carrying 60 and more columns around (my autocolumns.ini is bigger than 160 entries). This cannot be handled in the given small area of a right context menu.
So please let it as it is - all column related tasks together in one dialog with a scrollable checkmark list.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. I'm suggesting this in addition to the current column management interface. Leave the 'Customize columns...' selection at the top of the list, so it doesn't change the behavior for anyone.
