Suggestion: Nomenclature (so you already know this isn’t super important!)

Just a suggestion, has no bearing on functionality at all...

Obviously Mp3tag has its roots in Music/MP3, but personally I find it crazy useful as a general Media Manager. I have 3x separate portable installs of Mp3tag for Music, Podcasts, and Video (and no doubt will add more over time), very customised with specific tags/columns etc that make sense for that media. Been using this way for a long time.

Most docs, menus, (even install I think?) still assume music only. Just one guys opinion, but Mp3tag is a hell of lot more flexible than that, and maybe should be promoted as such. Your baby though...

What would you suggest as a better-matching name?

Could you give examples for this limitation? I just scanned through the menus and I find references to "tags" but not a specific type of playload data.
The Overview in the documentation says:

It supports batch tag-editing of ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments and APE Tags for multiple files at once covering a variety of audio and video formats.

Furthermore, it supports online database lookup from, e.g., Discogs, MusicBrainz or gnudb, allowing you to automatically gather proper tags and download cover art for your music library.

You can rename files based on the tag information, replace characters or words in tags and filenames, import/export tag information, create playlists and more.

Looks to me like the emphasis is on tagging.
