I have programs open configuration folder, ZIP file or Settings with files, ini
I can download the configurations, it allows me to quickly choose among some configurations that I have programmed and which are automatically installed in the program in a few seconds...
I tried with Mp3tag, I found the ZIP file, which I unzip in a folder and I have to place the files myself manually in the folders...
Is there a command in Mp3tag, to be able to place the configuration automatically in the program?
I don't know how many different configurations you use.
But if these are just 2 most frequently used, then it may be an alternative to install 2 versions of MP3tag on the same computer:
a standard installation and
a portable installation.
Like that you have at these 2 environments available with a double click.
It would not be registered by the system as installed app. So you simply delete the installation folder if you do not want it any more.
This would also mean, that you choose a folder different from the ordinary locations so that the 2 versions do not overwrite each others settings.
This way you could have as many different installations as you like, provided only one of them is a "standard" installation.
It would also mean that you have to do the housekeeping and distribute common actions, exports and web source scripts to each of the installations (where required).
The portable version of most programs is not actually installed through Windows. So there is no integration ofthe Windows shortcuts like the right-click action in Explorer. If you choose to have both versions on your system, only the Installer version will be accessed using the Explorer menus.
