Whenever I think I'm getting a grip with tagging, something crops up and I end up messing about and further confusing myself.

I use Foobar and iTunes for listening to music on computer and have an iPod.

MP3Tag is of course used for tagging and deleting unwanted stuff like PUBLISHER etc and I am reasonably comfortable with what to do.

I now notice that I have generated ALBUM ARTIST, ALBUMARTIST, DISCOGS_ARTIST_NAME, COMMENT ITUNNORM, ITUNNORM, and CONTENTGROUP tags...................

Can one of you kind fellows advise this old duffer as to which of these he can safely delete bearing in mind that I use MP3Tag, iTunes and have an iPod.

You can delete ALBUM ARTIST as ALBUMARTIST is recognised by foobar, iTunes and the iPod. Any DISCOGS tags can be removed as they are just custom tags. Don't delete the ITUNNORM tags as they are used for Soundcheck in iTunes and iPid (Apples version of Replaygain). CONTENTGROUP is used for grouping in iTunes so it may be if you use that feature.
