Tags not updating in rekordbox 6

I know this has been questioned before but this has only suddenly started happening to me.
I updated tags in mp3tag to separate title and artist into separate fields, however RB 6.8.2 is now suddenly not showing these updated tags. These are new files that I have just tagged and added to the collection.
previously this worked no problem once I clicked reload tags.
Cant figure out whether this is a RB or MP3 issue.

If you can copy these files to another directory, open it from there in Mp3tag and still see your separated TITLE and ARTIST correctly in Mp3tag (Alt + T), then it is a RB-Problem.

sorry not sure what you mean by copy to another directory
do you mean physically move the files to another location and see if the tags are still there?

Yes, exactly.
(Move or copy the files, it doesn't matter for this test)
