Tags not working in iTunes?

Hi. Firstly, apologies as I am a new user and this may be a stupid question.

I have used the filename - tag functionality and I can see the properties of my wav files have been updated with the tags.

However, when I play the files in iTunes, the tags don't appear to be working. For example, all the artists appear in my library as 'Unknown Artist'.

If someone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

iTunes doesn’t directly read tag info for wav files. If you tag within iTunes, this is only saved within the iTunes database, not the file itself.

You can use a different lossless format, iTunes only supports ALAC. But this format allows proper tagging and retains the same quality as WAV. There are other lossless formats as well, but none are supported by iTunes at this time.
