Track Count is still visible in MusicBee even after removing tags in Mp3tag

When I want to clean ALL the tags with "Remove tag" I see with program MusicBee that "track count" is not erased.

This has caused me problems when sorting songs with this program: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=41454

I have not found a way to display this tag in mp3Tag either, and the only way I have to delete it is with musicBee.

Is this a bug? Is there no way to delete all the tags really?

You can only delete tags in Mp3tag that Mp3tag can read and that Mp3tag supports.

If you could provide one of these songs, we could have a look what "special tag" MusicBee is using for "track count".

In the provided 3 songs here, I can't find any hint that a "track count" is embedded in these 3 songs. Neither with Mp3tag, nor with exiftool nor other audio tools.
They contain only a TRACK number as 01 or 02 or 03.

There isn't a standard field with the name "Track Count". The field you have highlighted is TotalTracks in mp3tag.

I did see your post on the MB forum. I also use MusicBee as I am transitioning away from iTunes. Are you sure the tag you are using isn't one of the custom tag options from within MusicBee? Something you are using to create a count of songs for each album perhaps? These custom calculation fields are not stored in the file metadata, just in the MB database. There would be no field to remove in this case.

OK I did some additional investigating here. In MusicBee when you choose a file and right-click>Edit you can see the tag editor. At the top there is a tab labelled "Tag Inspector" that shows you a list of all tags, and the official spec name of the each field that is stored.

What MusicBee call "Track Count" is the same field "TOTALTRACKS" in mp3tag.

If MusicBee works this way (and save the modification back to the song), we should see TOTALTRACKS in Alt + T too, right?
Such a tag could easily be deleted in Mp3tag, right?

Correct. But like many music programs, it is necessary to refresh their database before external changes are reflected. That is most likely the issue here.

I thought that when you hit delete tags it deleted all of them, not the ones I knew about.

That depends on the file type.
Form MP3 files you can set which tag versions shall be deleted when you use any function to remove tags.
See Ctrl-OTags>Mpeg.
Also, unread tag versions are not deleted.
So you have to check which tag version are present in your files and how you treat them, as @MotleyG indicated

The short screencast in the OT shows that all tag versions are removed from the file (empty Tag column in Mp3tag after Remove Tag), i.e., that no tag data is present in the files. Asking the OP to check for other tag version would, thus, most likely only complicate the support request and potentially create new questions.

The whole issue is now also confirmed as a bug in MusicBee, where it retains track count in its local database even if the data is removed and will be fixed in the MusicBee v3.6. Thanks to MusicBee forum member tjinc for shedding some light into this.

This reinforces the importance of including a clear screenshot from mp3tag when asking for support here. Glad it was resolved.
